A sealord must understand the virtue of sacrificial living, and be willing to be spent selflessly in the service of another brother. This is the foundation of BDB - brother deliver brother. This ideology is premised on looking out for the interest and well-being of the other. Thus, we go the extra mile in helping a brother in need, to save lives and livelihood. As we relentlessly pursue this ideal; we eschew self-service, selfishness, avarice, narcissism etc. We know that to engage in any of these will break and destroy the bond of brotherliness and the brotherhood. As we practice ‘blood for blood’ amongst ourselves, we strengthen our bond and elevate our power within the society at large.

BC promotes the virtue of respect for the dignity of labour in the pursuit of career advancement and personal and group development. The treasures of the sea are never washed up to the shores of the ocean to be picked up. Rather, they are obtained through hard work, competence, diligence and perseverance. We believe that industry is a virtue the idle can never know; the slothful can never appreciate. Hence the slogan; ‘No Price, No Pay’. There is a Price for every Pay (reward). Success happens when opportunity meets with preparation. In the pursuit of Treasure Island, sow the seed of preparation. Study, earn a degree, develop a skill, master a vocation, excel in your career. These are the Price we pay, for opportunity to reward with Pay.

One of the founding objectives of the BC is to promote an egalitarian society and fight against societal ills. Also, we encourage harmonious and peaceful co-existence with all men. For these to be achieved, truth and justice must reign. ‘No Friend, No Foe’ implies that the Buccaneer must display justice and fair play in all relationships. This is the foundation of harmony and trust. Sealords must eschew tribalism, nepotism, religious bigotry in dealing with one another. This virtue must equally be at play in their dealings with lubbers as well. Sealords must respect contractual obligations and be trustworthy.

To ensure cohesion and promote Esprit De Corps, loose tongues are deplored, for the secrets of the Buccaneers' Confraternity; remain on Deck. Similarly, our core values prevail on every member of BC to refrain from such comments and actions that may breed contempt amongst members.

It is common knowledge that the absence of law and order breeds anarchy. To inculcate a sense of responsibility in conformity with law and order, instructions from constituted authorities are respected and obeyed inside and outside the Brotherhood; within bounds of reason. Hence, it is required of every member of our noble association to show respect to people who are older in terms of chronological age, as well as people who hold positions of authority within and outside the Brotherhood.
